We encourage youth participation through our 2 programs — Frontyard Youth Advisory Committee, and Youth Action Group.
Through these programs, we give young people a platform to be involved in the decisions that directly affect them and make a difference.
Since its establishment in 2017, FYAC members have used their personal experiences to influence change through consultations, community education and advocacy.
Members represent MCM at events and conferences, co-deliver education sessions with Frontyard and assist with a variety of projects.
The committee is made up of past and present users of our services, which provides incredibly valuable insights into the changes needed in the community.
Through their lived experiences, each member has a unique outlook on the services offered to those experiencing homelessness. They also possess a passion to reduce stigma and promote understanding of the causes and effects of youth homelessness.
With this information, FYAC provides direction on not only how our services can be improved, but how external bodies could further develop as well.
If you would like to book a community education session or consultation, or for any questions, please contact us on 03 9977 0077.
