MCM to transition out of Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching services

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision that MCM will transition out of our Disability Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching services for the north, west and east metropolitan areas from 20 April 2026. Our Specialist Support Coordination services will remain, and Support Coordination services in Bendigo will continue.

The people and families we support are always at the centre of our decisions. But, over recent years, the funding environment for Support Coordination under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has become increasingly challenging. While wages and other essential costs have continued to rise, Support Coordination pricing has remained unchanged for more than 5 years, and our decision has been reinforced by the latest NDIS Annual Price Review, confirming it will not increase in 2025–26.

Despite our best efforts, these pressures mean we will no longer be able to deliver general Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching at the high-quality, person-centred standard that participants deserve. Continuing under the current funding settings would compromise the sustainability, viability and quality of the service, and that is not something we are willing to do.

During this transition period, our focus remains on the wellbeing of participants and their families. We are committed to supporting each person in transitioning to a trusted Support Coordination provider of their choice and ensuring a smooth, supported handover.
