MCM Group to welcome Quantum Support Services

quantum and mcm stronger together 22 January 2025

The Boards of MCM and Quantum Support Services are thrilled to announce that Quantum Support Services will join MCM Group at the end of February 2025.

This collaboration builds on previous positive experiences of working together, highlighting the complementary strengths of both organisations, enhancing their shared mission to deliver impactful community services across Victoria.

MCM is a leading for-purpose provider, offering a diverse range of services, including family, housing, education and youth support, as well as disability and palliative care. As part of MCM Group, Quantum will continue its vital work in Gippsland, where it has been a trusted provider of family violence, care services, homelessness and family support services for more than 30 years.

Under the new model, Quantum will remain a distinct entity with its own Board, mirroring the structure of other MCM Group members, such as Hester Hornbrook Academy and MCM Housing. Quantum will also retain its local management, with CEO Natalie McDonald continuing to lead operations. Importantly, services will remain in Gippsland, delivered by local people for local communities.

MCM’s Chair, Jonathan Mortimer, emphasised the shared vision of the two organisations:

“Our organisations share similar values and aspirations, including increasing the impact for our communities. For both Quantum and MCM, being part of a larger group means greater opportunities to invest in service growth, innovation, and advocacy. We are excited about Quantum joining MCM Group and look forward to creating more pathways to possibilities for more Victorians.”

Quantum’s Chair, James Lye, highlighted the benefits for Gippsland communities:

“Our respective Boards did not enter into this agreement lightly. We both have similar strategic goals of growth, including increasing the impact on our communities. Each organisation had a strong sense of what a successful future could look like together,” Mr Lye said.

“This collaboration strengthens Quantum’s financial sustainability and provides access to greater resources, enabling us to deliver more services locally in Gippsland. Joining MCM Group ensures that Quantum remains embedded in our community, while leveraging MCM’s expertise to expand our offerings and deliver more comprehensive support systems.”

MCM’s CEO, Vicki Sutton said, “With Quantum as part of the MCM group, we can leverage our capacity, reach and shared commitment to quality services to create more pathways to possibilities for more Victorians.”

Quantum’s CEO, Natalie McDonald said, “Partnerships and collaboration are not new concepts to Quantum’s strategy of delivering its existing programs. We work closely with many other organisations to deliver programs to support our community’s needs.”

This partnership represents a significant milestone, combining the strengths of MCM and Quantum to create a brighter future for Victorians across the state.
