MCM is facing the possibility of closing its two Early Learning Centres due to a flaw in the design of the Commonwealth Government’s Early Childhood and Care Relief Package, announced last week.
In line with Federal and State Government advice regarding non-essential organised gatherings of more than 100 people, MCM has decided that our much-loved flagship fundraising event Sleep At The ’G is unable to proceed as a mass participation event this year.
MCM will redevelop and relocate one of its youth refuge services to Werribee to support young people experiencing homelessness in Melbourne’s inner west.
The Youth Action Group (YAG) is a group of emerging young leaders (ages 18–24) who are passionate about raising the profile of young people in Melbourne. Applications are now open for 2020.
Evaluating the impact of a Youth Worker in the classroom has on education outcomes for students at Melbourne City Mission’s (MCM) Hester Hornbrook Academy (HHA) was the goal of a research project led by Victorian University.
At MCM we uphold the rights and safety of all people, especially those who are at a greater risk. We welcome the Royal Commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability, and the opportunity it offers to improve the lives of people living with disability.
MCM will be among many homeless service providers, corporate, philanthropists, and local governments lending its skills and expertise to build more crisis accommodation for more than 300 people that are currently sleeping rough on the streets of Melbourne each night.
