National Children's Week

Bassetts Road Early Learning Centre 19 October 2019

Children’s Week is a national celebration of children’s rights, talents and citizenship held in Australia to coincide with Universal Children’s Day. Each year the theme of Children’s Week highlights a particular Children’s Right.

The theme for 2019 is Article 24 – ‘Children have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help them stay well.

Children’s health starts with healthy communities. Where children live, play and go to school, can play a big part in how they grow up.

We can all help to build a great foundation for healthy children by making sure our communities have quality health care; clean water, air and green spaces; nutritious food options; support for parents; and safe places to play and socialise.

Children’s Week is a great opportunity to join the conversation about how governments and communities can work side by side to keep all children healthy.
