MCM undertakes purposeful advocacy at all levels – government, private sector and community.
Advocacy is an important tool in our work to disrupt disadvantage, break down barriers and support people to achieve their best future, their way.
Our latest policy submissions can be found in our publication finder.
We work closely with the sector to advocate for positive social change. We have been an active voice on a number of current and recent advocacy campaigns:
Anti-Poverty Week aims to strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and encourage action by individuals, communities, organisations and governments to alleviate it.
MCM CEO Vicki Sutton is the Co-Chair of the Victorian Anti-Poverty Week campaign.
Alliance20 brings together Australia’s largest and most influential disability service providers that can leverage their history, expertise, research and innovation to shape the NDIS. MCM is proud to be part of the Alliance20 group which represents some of Australia’s largest disability service providers.
Everybody’s Home is a national campaign calling for an end to Australia's housing crisis. MCM is a campaign partner working with the sector to call on our government to make some simple changes to fix Australia’s housing system.
MCM is part of a group of organisations and individuals that believe an option should be available for youth in the Out-of-Home Care system to remain in care until the age of 21 – Home Stretch.
We believe that giving young people in state care the extended care option, will provide them with the platform to make the right start in life and enjoy a better long term life outcome.
