Youth Homelessness Education Sessions are back for 2022

Youth homelessness education sessions at Frontyard 30 November 2021

Frontyard Youth Services is happy to announce that education sessions on youth homelessness will recommence from Term 1, 2022.

Session Covers

  • The prevalence of youth homelessness in Australia.
  • Why youth homelessness can be largely invisible to the wider community.
  • The causes and contributing factors of homelessness.
  • How Frontyard Youth Services assists those experiencing homelessness.
  • Real life examples of youth homelessness.
  • What we all can do to help end youth homelessness.

Walking Tour

Session can also include a short walking tour down towards the Yarra River to discuss issues faced by those having to sleep rough.

Session Length

90 minutes.

Location

Due to Frontyard Youth Services being an active crisis service, it is not possible for the session to happen onsite. Therefore, sessions take place at the City CYC building on 538 Collins Street, Melbourne Victoria.

Resources

A 62-page resource booklet We’re Not So Different is provided to each student at the completion of the session. This resource outlines the many challenges beyond just housing experienced by those unable to live in the family home and struggling to live independently.

Cost

A fee applies to each session to help Frontyard cover the cost of allocating staff/resources/venue hire. Details can be provided by contacting the program.

Frontyard Youth Services is the leading specialist youth service in Victoria, located in Melbourne’s CBD. The team supports young people to meet their physical, emotional, and social needs and develop a pathway out of homelessness.
