About the Opportunity

This role sits within the Youth and Community Participation Team at Frontyard Youth Services, a multidisciplinary program supporting young people aged 12–25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The primary purpose of the role is to design and deliver engaging, strengths-based group programs that promote wellbeing, build life skills, and community connection. Working closely with young people and service partners, this position plays a key role in supporting consistent engagement and creating positive pathways out of homelessness.

About you

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Develop and facilitate innovative group programs that engage young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with young people, supporting their consistent participation and personal growth.
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches to provide client focused outcomes.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and digital skills to manage program delivery and reporting.

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience developing and delivering engaging group programs for young people, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and actively engage young people with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and Child Safe Standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and digital literacy skills.
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive a motor vehicle as part of program delivery.

Screening Criteria:

  • National Police check
  • Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
  • Valid Victorian Drivers license
  • Right to Work in Australia
