Full-time maximum term contract until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension and flexible work arrangements
This Peer Worker role is part of the multidisciplinary Allied Health team within the Check-In Community Mental Health program at FYS in Melbourne’s CBD.
The role draws on lived experience of mental health and AOD needs, including other co-occurring needs (e.g. homelessness, family violence etc) to build authentic relationships with young people aged 12–25.
With a focus on fostering trust, safety, and hope, the Peer Worker supports young people to explore their experiences, access appropriate services, and work towards their mental health, AOD and social goals.
We are looking for someone who can:
provide clear disclosure statements to young people to establish expectations, boundaries and the scope of the peer role in a way that minimises power imbalances with an intention to not drive disconnection.
