COVID-19 (Coronavirus) updates

As the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues, MCM's thoughts are with those who have been impacted here in Australia and around the world.

We are working to minimise service disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for our most at-risk clients in disability, homelessness, palliative care, residential care and family service programs, to ensure the safety of our people, clients and community.

This page is updated regularly with the latest developments.

Last updated Monday 4 May.

We are actively responding to a rapidly evolving environment. Some measures we’ve already taken include:

  • Introduced a special leave policy that ensures all employees, including casuals, can access two weeks paid leave for COVID-19 related absence
  • Reinforcing hygiene protocols
  • Changes or cancellations of non-essential physical meetings, excursions and events
  • Visitor restriction to some sites
  • Reducing personal contact in the delivery of some of our services to comply with the latest government health recommendations

In response to increased government restrictions for non-essential services and social distancing measures, MCM is adopting precautionary measures in the interest of minimising the risk of transmission to staff and our most at-risk clients.
