  • Part time opportunity: 3 days a week Preferred day: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
  • Maximum term contract until 31 January 2027 with the possibility of extension
  • Travelling to different site locations required (Northern and Western parts of Melbourne)
     

About the Opportunity

The Early Links Family Services program provides early intervention and prevention support to families with children aged 0–12 years in the Merri-bek and Brimbank areas. Family Support Workers facilitate evidence-based group programs and provide one-to-one parenting support.

About you

We are looking for someone who can: 

  • Deliver best-practice, group-based parenting programs such as the Circle of Security and Tuning into Kids programs.
  • Provide short-term one-to-one parenting support for families with children aged 0-12 years.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with service providers and actively represent and promote the Early Links program within community and professional networks.
  • Provide a safe and secure healing-oriented environment for all participating children and families.

Essential:

  • A minimum diploma-level qualification and relevant experience in Community Services, Early Childhood, Family Services or a related field.
  • Proven ability to facilitate group-based activities and evidence-based parenting programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice, child development, parenting and family functioning.
  • Knowledge of available community and professional supports, and the ability to provide appropriate referrals for children and families.

Screening Criteria

  • National Police check
  • Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
  • Valid Victorian Drivers licence
  • Right to Work in Australia
