MCM’s Community Integration Accommodation Options (CIAO) Program provides support and accommodation services to eligible young people between 15-18 years old within the Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care system. CIAO facilitates a beneficial and meaningful transition from Out-of-Home Care towards independence and self sufficiency.
The CIAO program consists of two models of support: Lead Tenant and Targeted Care Packages.
Lead Tenant is a supported accommodation model delivered across four properties. Each property can support two young people, these young people are supported in each property by two live in Lead Tenant volunteers.
Targeted Care Packages are individualised funding and support packages developed to assist young people under 19 who are involved with Child Protection to prevent entry into Out-of-Home care accommodation services and develop skills to build independence.

The role of the Caseworker, CIAO is to provide Young People with flexible support that is tailored to their needs, with the level of support varying during the Young Person’s time in the program. Ensuring the program is led by Trauma Informed, Healing Oriented, Strengths Based principles underpinned with Developmental and Attachment theories allows us to respond creatively, build capacity and provide a safe, effective, and person-centred care that meets the complex needs of vulnerable young people.
