Schools and other providers may offer their students the opportunity to complete a VET course as the industry skills component of a VCAL program.
Melbourne City Mission, as a Registered Training Organisation, can bring the VET programs to your community centre, flexible learning program or school.
As part of their VCAL program, students must complete the Industry Specific Skills strand.
Depending on the units they choose, students may or may not be eligible to receive a full Certificate II; however, enough training can be offered to meet VCAL requirements.
The Certificate II in Business gives you an introduction to the skills needed to be able to work in administrative roles.
You will learn to process a range of business transactions and documents, work effectively with others in a business environment and develop skills to work with business documents, such as spreadsheets.
This course will give you an introduction to the competencies required to work in the Community Services sector.
You will learn to work with clients, make referrals to services, work within a community development framework, work safely and communicate effectively in the industry.
This course will give you an introduction to both creative and workplace skills for the industry.
In addition to three core units, you can select from a range of electives, and learn drawing methods and other creative techniques. You will also develop practical workplace knowledge and critical thinking strategies.
The purpose of this course is to enable you to develop skills and knowledge to improve your employability and work readiness and to support you to re-engage with learning.
You will be supported through this course to build pathways to further training or employment opportunities.
