Frontyard is a specialist youth service (15 – 24 years) providing a range of multidisciplinary, intensive support in one building that disrupts disadvantage. Frontyard aims to support young people holistically to meet their physical, emotional, and social needs with the end goal a pathway out of homelessness. This role sits within Frontyard’s Accommodation Program. The program is a longer-term therapeutic housing option for young people that universal homelessness services have not been able to assist in breaking the cycle of homelessness they are experiencing. The program works from a healing oriented, strengths-based framework and focuses on working with young people to reach their goals and exit the homelessness service system.
We are seeking people who are strong advocates for social justice that want to ensure positive outcomes for young people through going above and beyond to achieve sustainable outcomes. If you are passionate about creating sustainable and supportive opportunities for young people and want to leave your mark on changing the status quo, then this is the role for you.
The Accommodation Suppport Worker will assist with providing structured support, assessment and referral to young people and their children within the program and providing assistance to access appropriate accommodation options particularly youth housing, family reconciliation, private rental and public housing. We are seeking applicants who have a qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related community services field. Experience in working with homeless young people would be desirable. A clear understanding of working within a case management framework including client assessment and intake processes will also be highly regarded.
