About the program


Each HHA classroom is facilitated by a team comprised of a VCAL/VETis teacher and Youth Worker.  The classroom team collaborates to provide a safe, respectful and productive learning environment.  The team works in partnership with the students to understand and address the barriers to learning, to set and achieve academic, pathway and other life goals.  The teacher and youth worker bring different and overlapping skills and experience to the classroom to provide a holistic response to the students’ educational needs.    

About the role

As a leader within HHA, the Head of Campus is primarily responsible for leadership and day to day operations of their designated campus.  They are required to work collaborately with Wellbeing Team Leader to ensure that every student has an individual education plan and that all other compliance requirements are met. 
The Head of Campus will work with the rest of the executive leadership team to establish a culture of improvement and feedback to ensure high quality teaching and learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy and VCAL outcomes.  They will lead the development of an area of the Strategic Plan/Annual Implementation Plan and advise in areas relating to the leadership and support for classroom teams, enrolments and student management and wellbeing. The position also has responsibility of policy development, implementation and ongoing compliance. As a key member of the HHA leadership team, the role contributes to leadership planning and decision making by offering a strategic overview to the necessary requirements for high quality teaching and learning. 

Skills and experience

  • Operationally lead and manage all activities, staff and students on their designated campus to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Provide leadership of all Duty of Care, Occupational Health and Safety, and Child Safe requirements for their designated campus.

  • Provide effective leadership, development and implementation of all areas of the Strategic Plan to ensure the students achieves success in VCAL, VET, Wellbeing and Post-Secondary Pathways.


  • A tertiary qualification in education or extensive experience in a healing orientated school setting.
  • Significant and proven management and/or leadership experience, with the ability to lead and manage all activities, staff and students to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Ability to support the implementation of strategic initiatives in education and training, in line with educational strategic plans.
  • Experience working with in a healing orientation setting, with LGBTQI young people and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds who have existing barriers to engaging in education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.


  • Experience in senior leadership roles.
  • A relevant post graduate qualification.
